Bengaluru Traffic Advisory: The Bengaluru Traffic Police have announced major traffic restrictions and diversions in parts of the city for the Ganesha idol immersion processions on September 18. The curbs will impact traffic movement in areas under the KG Halli, Pulakeshinagar, and Banaswadi traffic police station limits.

A Look At Procession Timings And Routes

The primary procession will move through the KG Halli and Pulakeshinagar areas starting at 11:00 AM on September 18 and until 4:00 AM on September 19. Another procession is scheduled in the Lingarajapuram and Banaswadi zones on Friday, from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Both processions will conclude at Halasuru Lake.

General Traffic Diversions

  • Traffic movement is strictly restricted on Nagawara Main Road, Tannery Road, and Davis Road, with all vehicle movement blocked between Nagawara Junction and Pottery Circle Road. Key diversions include:
  • Vehicles from Netaji Junction heading toward Tannery Road will be diverted via Pottery Circle, while traffic will be directed toward Pottery Junction via Clark Road. Vehicles from Rogers Road, Armstrong Road, and Hall Road must divert toward Pottery Road.
  • Traffic from Mosque Junction will be diverted via Clarence Bridge toward Pottery Road. Vehicles from the Lazar Road and Pottery Road Junction will head toward Sindhi Colony Junction via Buddhavihara Road.
  • Two-way movement on Assaye Road is temporarily suspended; traffic is restricted to a one-way from War Memorial Junction toward Sindhi Colony Junction.

Restrictions In Banaswadi Area

  • Traffic moving from Chandrika Junction and Lingarajapuram toward the city will be diverted via Hennur Bridge.
  • Vehicles from Chandrika Junction will be diverted toward Nehru Road, Ullasappa Junction, and Kuvempu Circle.
  • Traffic from Kalyan Nagar 80Ft Road will be diverted toward Uttam Sagar Junction.
  • Commuters on Banaswadi Main Road heading to the city must travel via the IOC Bridge.

Ganesh Idol Immersion Suspended At Yediyur Lake

In a separate update, the Bengaluru City Corporation has suspended Ganesha idol immersions at the Yediyur Lake immersion tank (Yediyur Ward-105) on September 18 and September 22.

While the lake has arrangements for immersion from September 14 to 26, the immersion pond is currently full. Authorities will conduct intensive cleaning work on the specified dates to remove accumulated soil and solid waste before refilling the tank with clean water. Public entry and idol immersions will be restricted on September 18 and 20.
