- IMD forecasts light to moderate rain for Delhi during BRICS Summit.

Delhi Weather: As the BRICS Summit begins on Saturday, New Delhi is likely to witness one or two spells of light rainfall today. The Indian Meteorological Department said that the capital would experience rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightening during the morning till the forenoon, followed by splashes of rain in the afternoon and night.
Temperatures in the capital is likely to remain moderate on Friday. The maximum temperature is expected to rise from 30 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum can drop upto 24 and 26 degrees Celsius.

Amid the summit, the roads in the capital may get inundated following the inclement weather. The IMD has warned that heavy rain in vulnerable areas could lead to waterlogging, inundation and disruption to road and rail traffic. Wind speeds will be around 8.7 km/h, which could influence the perceived temperature.

The IMD on Friday, issued a heavy rain alert for parts of the capital for the next three days. According to meteorologists, northwesterly winds have reduced monsoon activity in the region for the past three days. Now, a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal will bring a change in the weather.

A reversal of wind direction to the southeast will increase monsoon activity in the capital and surrounding areas. According to the India Meteorological Department, light rain is possible on Friday, while light to moderate rain is forecast from Saturday to Wednesday.
The BRICS Leaders' Summit is scheduled for September 12 and 13 in New Delhi, with leaders including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expected to attend.
