  1. Hot air balloon rides resume November 14 at Baansera Park.
  2. Enjoy 20% discount on tickets for families and individuals.
  3. Rides offer Yamuna floodplains view, promoting eco-tourism.

Delhi Hot Air Balloon Ride: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is bringing back hot air balloon rides at Baansera Park from November 14, offering discounted tickets for families, individual visitors, schools and corporate groups. The winter relaunch follows a slow start during the previous season, with the authority and operator Air Safari India looking to attract more visitors and revive interest in the adventure activity along the Yamuna floodplains.

The rides were first launched in Delhi on November 29, 2025, and suspended in March 2026 with the onset of summer. For the upcoming season, the operator is offering a 20 per cent discount to families and individual visitors. Standard tickets cost around Rs 2,400 to Rs 3,000.

“We observed last time that instead of pre-booking, people preferred booking on the spot. We are hoping for a similar response this time. We will resume the rides at Baansera, as the rides there received a better response,” a representative of Air Safari said.

During the previous operating period, the operator received around 20 visitors on weekend days. On some weekends, rides could not be conducted because of cultural programmes at Baansera Park. Weekday footfall was also low, with only four or five visitors turning up on some days, prompting the service to be restricted to weekends in December 2025. Plans to expand the attraction to additional locations were subsequently put on hold.

The DDA hopes that discounted fares will attract schools and corporate companies, organised groups.

What is hot air balloon ride?

Hot air balloon rides give people a view of the Yamuna floodplains, green spaces and the city skyline from above. The balloons are tied to the ground with strong ropes and rise about 100 to 150 feet into the air.

Each ride lasts about four to five minutes. The full experience takes around 10 minutes, including a safety briefing. Each basket can carry up to 10 people.

The initiative is part of the Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) plan to develop recreational activities and eco-tourism along the Yamuna floodplains. The rides were initially planned at four locations- Asita East Park, Baansera Park, Yamuna Sports Complex in Surajmal Vihar, and Commonwealth Games Village Sports Complex.
