Video that emerged on social media shows a power bank (for mobile charging) in the baggage cabin suddenly catching fire, prompting passengers to douse it with handbags and clothes. The fire in the cabin created chaos on the flight. Few passengers shot the scene on their phones. However, The Daily Jagran could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.
What IndiGo Said On The Fire Incident
The airline, in a statement, acknowledged the fire incident, saying a Chennai-bound IndiGo flight from Delhi was diverted to Hyderabad on Sunday after smoke was detected from a customer's personal electronic device kept in the overhead bin and the plane landed safely.
