  1. Delhi Metro to close 57 stations from October 9 night.
  2. Precautionary measures taken for proposed CJP protest on October 10.
  3. Section 163 enforced; unauthorized gatherings in Delhi are illegal.

Ahead of proposed demonstrations in the national capital on October 10, the Delhi Police has requested the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to shut down entry and exit gates at 57 key metro stations across multiple lines, starting at 9:00 PM tonight. The precautionary measures follow the enforcement of Section 163 across Delhi, with Delhi police declaring any unauthorised gatherings including the proposed Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest is strictly illegal.

Railways also have been reportedly ordered the cancellation of all the mail and express trains to New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations between 4 am and 2 pm on October 10, citing possibility of heavy traffic congestion near these stations. While the cancellations have been announced, the authorities have not confirmed whether the decision was taken due to the demonstrations.

In a letter dated October 8, the Joint Commissioner of Police (Transport Range) stated that metro train frequency at the identified stations may also be reduced, citing the likelihood of unruly crowd movement toward sensitive locations.

"In view of the proposed protests at Jantar Mantar and other locations in New Delhi District on 10.10.2026, and likelihood of unruly mob movement towards sensitive locations, frequency of Metro trains passing through the following Metro stations may be reduced and their entry/exit gates may be closed from 09:00 PM on 09.10.2026, continuing on 10.10.2026 till the situation normalizes"

This development comes after the Delhi Police warned against the proposed Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest on October 10, stating that Section 163 is in force in the national capital and any gathering would be considered illegal.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shrishti Pandey said protests were not permitted at Jantar Mantar or any other location while the restrictions remained in force, warning that the police would take legal action against unauthorized gatherings.
