The argument over taking a dog inside a lift at a Ghaziabad housing society allegedly turned violent, with a teacher claiming she was assaulted by a woman carrying the dog. The incident took place at Windsor Paradise-2 Society in Rajnagar Extension on Saturday, following which police registered a case on the teacher’s complaint.
Hina Bari, a teacher at a school in Indirapuram and a resident of the society, was returning home from work at around 3 pm when the incident occurred.

The video of the incident has been going viral on social media platforms. In the footage, Shweta Dubey, the owner of the dog, is seen inside the lift with her dog and arguing with the security guard and Hina.
According to Hina’s complaint, Dubey was not allowing other residents to enter the elevator. When Hina tried to get inside, an argument broke out between the two.
Teacher Alleges Assault With Dog Stick
The dispute allegedly escalated when Shweta slapped Hina. Shweta also allegedly hit Hina with a dog stick, pulled her hair and abused her. The teacher also allegedly hit Shweta once during the altercation.
Hina further claimed that the society guard intervened and tried to convince Shweta to calm down, but she allegedly refused to listen.
ACP Nandgram said police have registered a case against Shweta based on the woman’s complaint. The matter is under investigation, and further action will be taken based on the facts and evidence gathered during the probe.

Reacting to the incident, a user said, “Dog owners are a menace to society. We cannot be asked to worry about dogs on the streets and also at the place where we live, which is supposed to be a safe place. ”
Another said, “Dogs should not be allowed in lifts.”
