Greater Noida Family Deaths: New evidence has been uncovered by the police in the suspicious deaths of five members of a family in Rabupura, Greater Noida, on Saturday. Mahesh and his wife, Lalitha, along with their three children, were found dead in their beds. They were discovered dead by neighbours who grew suspicious after they did not appear in the morning.
Initial reports revealed food poisoning, as their last meal was noodles and tea. However, on Sunday, the police found a voice note left by the father, Mahesh.
Was It Food Poisoning Or Suicide?
The voice note by Mahesh has thrown a fresh twist into the probe. In the audio, he can be heard blaming his two sisters, Sunita and Sapna, and a brother-in-law for what happened, which has raised questions about whether the family took their own lives. Police are now checking the timestamp on the recording to work out exactly when it was made.
According to NDTV, police sources said that Mahesh had allegedly mixed poison in the noodles.
Three Relatives Detained
Three relatives have been detained, and a case has been registered after Mahesh’s brother-in-law filed a complaint alleging harassment. Mahesh, his wife Lalita and their three children were found dead at their home on Saturday in Nagla Shri Padam village, which falls under Rabupura police station in Greater Noida.

At first, officers suspected food poisoning because the family had eaten tea and noodles the night before they were found. But during the post-mortems, doctors noticed signs that pointed to possible poisoning. Viscera samples from all five bodies were preserved and sent to a laboratory for testing. The exact cause of death will only become clear once those reports come back.
