Gujarat Road Accident: In a horrific incident, a mother and her teenager son died and two other individuals got severely injured after a speeding Fotuner car ran over a sleeping family in Ahmedabad. As per the reports, the laborer family was sleeping at a footpath in the Nikol region on Monday when the speeding heavy car ran over them. The officials stated that a total of four individuals got injured and were rushed to a nearby hospital by the locals. However, a woman and her son succumbed to injuries during the treatment, they added.
How The Incident Unfolded
While providing details, the officials stated that the Fortuner struck people resting on a footpath near Devashya School. The affected individuals had a very little time to react due to the speed of the car, leading to the crash, which caused panic among those present at the site. As per the reports, the deceased have been identified as Poonamben Nagwadiya and her son Sagar Nagwadiya.
'Beer Cans Found In Car'
The crowd there surrounded and thrashed the key accused Viralbhai Savjibhai Chaudhary, who was later arrested by the police. The reports also suggest that the accused was intoxicated while driving as beer cans were found in the car.

"Two beer cans were found in the car driven by Viral Savjibhai Chaudhary. After the incident, the driver was assaulted by a crowd that had gathered and was then taken to hospital for a medical examination to determine whether he was intoxicated," one of the official was quoted as saying by Dainik Bhaskar.
"A case has been registered against the accused under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), relating to culpable homicide, and the Motor Vehicles Act. Strict legal action has been initiated," he added. The accused is being interrogated to disclose whether he was intoxicated while driving.
