  1. Killers sent "I'm fine" WhatsApp messages from Yuvraj's phone.
  2. Financial dispute suspected as motive for Gurugram murder case.
  3. Former colleagues Anya Vats, Sanyam Sachdeva arrested for murder.

In a major development in the murder case of 31-year-old Yuvraj Singh Manchanda, police have revealed that messages sent to his family from his WhatsApp account were allegedly sent by his killers after his death. Yuvraj, who was due to get married within a month, had disappeared after leaving for an “urgent meeting” with his former colleague in Gurugram.

His family received messages from his phone on September 8, assuring them that he was fine and telling them he would return home. One of the messages read, “I'm fine, don't worry...my phone might get switched off”. The family later learnt that Yuvraj had already been killed.

Yuvraj had gone to Gurugram on September 6 to meet his former colleague, Anya Vats. He had informed his sisters, fiancee and boss about the meeting. Earlier that day, he had gone wedding shopping with his sisters and finalised his sherwani.

“He had gone to Lajpat with us for wedding shopping. His wedding was to happen in a month. After finalising his sherwani, he left, saying he had a meeting with a former woman colleague,” PTI quoted one of his sisters.

At around 7:30 pm, Yuvraj told his family that Anya would arrive in about 20 minutes and that he would call them after the meeting. However, he never called, and his phone became unreachable.

“After that, we only received messages,” his sister said.

The messages continued on September 8. Yuvraj's family was told that he was “fine” and that he would return on Saturday, before the return date was changed to Thursday. His family became suspicious and asked him to appear on a video call.

“Our sister asked why he was not calling or coming home. He never does this. We started panicking because he never does anything wrong,” one of his sisters said.

The family eventually filed a missing person report at Lajpat Nagar Police Station on September 11.

How Yuvraj Was Allegedly Murdered

According to police, Yuvraj was asked to park his car at one location before being taken to the SUV belonging to Anya and her husband, Sanyam Sachdeva. Anya allegedly sat behind Yuvraj while Sanyam drove.

Police allege that Anya then pulled out a gun and shot Yuvraj in the neck. The couple allegedly drove around with his body before dumping it in a drain in Gurugram.

Police suspect a financial dispute may have led to the murder. Yuvraj, Anya and Sanyam had previously worked together at a real estate company. Anya was reportedly removed from the company over alleged financial irregularities and later worked as a freelancer, assisting Yuvraj with real estate deals.
