INDIA Bloc March to SC Live: Heavy security deployment is in place in Central Delhi as the opposition INDIA bloc is set to lead a protest march to the Supreme Court demanding the resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar over the electoral irregularities. The march to the SC has been dubbed 'Chalo Dilli- March For Democracy ' and will start from Barakhamba Road. Congress has called on citizens across the country to join the agitation. In view of the protest, Delhi Police have erected barricades at multiple locations while the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has closed the entry and exit at six metro stations from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
As part of security preparations, personnel have been deployed at Barakhamba Road and near Mandi House. RAF (Rapid Action Force) and CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) personnel are also deployed along with Delhi Police personnel. The latest protest comes two days after the INDIA bloc delegation met President Droupadi Murmu and submitted a memorandum. The Opposition had sought a meeting with the CJI, which was rejected citing 'separation of powers'. The Congress said that its protest would nonetheless proceed. Parties including the Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress, CPI (M) and others are the participants.
