IRCTC Train Ticket Booking: Ahead of the key festivals, including Diwali and Chhath Pooja, the railway passengers have been facing several problems while booking train tickets. As per multiple reports, the passengers of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, despite making all the arrangements, have not been able to book tickets mainly due to the technical glitches. However, the chances of a confirmed ticket even on the busiest routes increase if certain steps are taken.

Use IRCTC's Master List Feature

Repeated entry of basic details such as name and age can be time-consuming while booking tickets on the IRCTC website. The passengers can utilise the IRCTC's Master List feature to avoid the delay, especially when the tickets are being booked within minutes. However, as per the IRCTC guidelines, it is not advisable to include more than six passengers in the Master List during the restricted initial booking period.

Have Multiple Options

The passengers can have preferred trains and classes while booking tickets during festivals, but they also must have multiple options. The overdependence on the special trains can also lead to disappointment; however, with good knowledge of the route and trains, the passengers can increase their chances.

Make Arrangements In Advance

It is also advisable to double-check available seats before booking, as the railways constantly change the seat inventory. The IRCTC has advised that the passengers must make all the necessary arrangements in advance while booking the tickets for the festivals.

Tatkal Ticket Is Option

The passengers also have the option of 'Tatkal' tickets if they fail to book a regular ticket. It opens one day before the train's departure date from the originating station, providing multiple options a day before the journey. While booking for AC class starts at 10 am, booking for non-AC class at 11 am.

Use IRCTC e-Wallet

Apart from this, pre-paying funds in the IRCTC e-Wallet eliminates the need for a banking login during payment and can speed up the booking process.
