  2. Suspension on Sunday from 9 am to 6:30 pm for maintenance.

Passengers travelling on the Kolkata Metro’s Blue Line are advised to plan their journeys in advance, as services on a section of the corridor will remain suspended for several hours on Sunday due to maintenance work.

According to a notification issued by the Kolkata Metro authorities on X (formerly twitter), train services between Shahid Khudiram and Mahanayak Uttam Kumar stations will remain suspended from 9 am to 6:30 pm.

The disruption has been planned to facilitate maintenance work between Gitanjali and Kavi Nazrul stations. The work will be carried out during traffic and power blocks on the stretch.

However, services between Dakshineswar and Mahanayak Uttam Kumar will continue to operate normally during the affected period.

The Blue Line is among the busiest corridors of the Kolkata Metro network and caters to a large number of daily commuters.

The temporary closure is likely to inconvenience passengers travelling from the southern parts of the city, particularly those heading towards popular Puja shopping hubs such as Lake Market and Esplanade.
