Puja Special Trains: In a major update for the passengers, the Railways will operate special trains between West Bengal and Assam to manage the extra rush during the major festivals, including Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath. As per the advisory, the decision has been taken to provide additional travel options to the passengers. The festive special trains will operate between Kolkata and New Jalpaiguri and Howrah and Lumding till December.

Howrah-Lumding Special Train

- Train number 03005 will depart from Howrah at 7.15 am every Friday from October 16 to November 27.

- The special train will reach Lumding at 8 am the next day.

- In the return journey, train number 03006 will depart from Lumding at 11 am every Saturday.

- It will arrive Howrah at 12.30 pm the following day.

- The services will be available between October 17 and November 28.

- The special train will pass through several stations, including Bandel, Nabadwip Dham, Katwa, Azimganj, Jangipur Road, New Farakka and Malda Town.

- As per the advisory, the train has General Second Class, Sleeper Class and air-conditioned coaches.

Kolkata-New Jalpaiguri Special Train

- Train number 03129 will run every Saturday and Sunday between October 17 and November 29.

- It will depart from Kolkata at 11.10 pm and arrive New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 am the following day

- Train number 03130, in the return journey, will operate every Sunday and Monday from October 18 to November 30.

- The puja special train will leave New Jalpaiguri at 12:45 pm and arrive Kolkata at 12:40 am the next day

- It will pass halt at multiple stations such as Naihati, Bandel, Nabadwip Dham, Katwa, Azimganj, Jangipur Road, New Farakka and Malda Town.

The railways have stated that the ticket booking will begin soon, further advising the passengers to stay updated and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconveniences.
