Why Was Vijay Pratap Singh Suspended From AAP?
MLA Vijay Pratap Singh was suspended from the party in June 2025 over alleged anti-party activities. Singh’s differences with the AAP government had shown up several times, especially over the way it handled the 2015 sacrilege cases and the police firing that followed in Faridkot.
He was suspended after he criticised the Punjab Vigilance Bureau for acting against SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who was arrested in a disproportionate assets case. Earlier, Singh had been part of the Punjab Police’s special investigation team looking into the Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan firings of 2015. He had repeatedly pointed out the long delay in getting justice in those cases.
