Interpol Notice, Rs 13,000 Cr Drug Case: Who Is Rishabh Baisoya, Son Of India's Biggest Cocaine Smuggler, Arrested In Delhi?

Rishabh Baisoya Arrest: The Delhi Police special cell on Tuesday arrested Rishabh Baisoya, son of the international drug smuggler Virendra Singh Baisoya, from the IGI Airport. He was apprehended in Abu Dhabi following a tip-off and was brought back and was arrested by the authorities. Baisoya is reportedly set to be produced in Patiala House Court and will be taken on remand for further questioning.

Earlier last month, Rishabh's father, Virendra Baisoya, was also detained in Abu Dhabi and was later arrested by the NCB's Mumbai zone when he was brought back to Delhi. Apart from this, Delhi's special team also brought him for interrogation and sent him to Tihar prison. Rishabh was later apprehended in Abu Dhabi based on the information provided by his father during the interrogation.

The special cell is now likely to seek Virendra Basoya's remand for further questioning and will interrogate both father and son face to face for authentication. The authority will try to trace their drug network in India and the other individuals working for them.

Red Notice Against Baisoya

Earlier last year, Interpol had issued a Red Notice against junior Baisoya after the special cell uneartherd Rs 13,000-crore cocaine haul, one of the largest drug racket findings in India's history. The courts had earlier declared him an absconder and proclaimed offender.

Who Is Rishabh Baisoya?

- As per the investigators, Rishabh managed logistics for his father's drug network and ensured the delivery of banned products in the metro cities.

- He allegedly used shell companies to move cocaine consignments across multiple states, the investigators revealed.

- Baisoya laundered thousands of crores through the Hawala channels across several key regions, including Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, and Hyderabad, reported Times of India, citing officials.

- Earlier in 2024, he provided an SUV to co-accused Jatinder Singh Gill to carry out the delivery work, but the vehicle was later seized by the authorities
