Why Are The Rallies Conducted?

Both the Shiv Sena (UBT) and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena have planned the rallies over the ongoing tensions due to the recent murder of Pradeep Punekar, who was a Shiv Sena (UBT) leader. Supporters and family of the slain leader have been demanding strict action and arrest of the accused related to the case. On Tuesday, son of the slain Shiv Sena (UBT) leader was detained by police, after which the city saw hours of protests with road blocks, tyre burnings and late-night police action.
