Delhi Hospital Shooting: A day after a doctor was shot dead inside Nima Hospital, Jaitpur under the Kalindi Kunj PS area of Delhi, the police apprehended one juvenile. The police on Thursday had informed that two men arrived at the hospital with injuries. They requested to see the doctor after receiving the doctor. As soon as they went inside the doctor's cabin, they opened the fire and killed him on spot.
According to the Crime Branch, the apprehended juvenile admitted his involvement in the crime and an effort to nab his co-accused is underway.
"The apprehended juvenile allegedly obtained the pistol from a person in Jafrabad, and a team has been dispatched there for further investigation," the crime branch said in an official statement.

Meanwhile, several doctors' associations condemned the murder of a 55-year-old medic on Thursday, saying "doctors are sitting on deathbeds" and called for immediate action to ensure their safety.

Delhi Murder Case Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dev said that Unani doctor Javed Akhtar lived with his family in Jama Masjid area. He has a wife and two daughters in the family. Javed used to practice in a three-bed Neema Hospital located in Khadda Colony of Jaitpur Extension.
Doctors Express Concern Over Their Safety
As the matter came to light, doctors' unions across the national capital expressed their grief and shock, stating that no healthcare professional will treat patients if their own safety is at risk.
Dhruv Chauhan, a national council member of the Indian Medical Association's (IMA) Junior Doctors Network, described the shooting as indicative of a broader societal issue.
"Doctors are now sitting on deathbeds," he said.
"Anyone who comes to us for help could potentially be a threat, as seen in Dr Akhtar's case," Chauhan told PTI.
