At least 10 labourers were killed and three others were injured following an accident on the GT Road at Mirzamurad Kachhwa border in Uttar Pradesh. The incident happened at nearly 1 AM on Friday after a tractor carrying 13 people was hit from behind by a truck that had gone out of control, said police.
A team of police reached the spot and started the rescue operation. The injured people were immediately sent to the BHU for treatment.
"On receiving this information, we reached the spot and rescue work was started. Out of those 13 people, 10 died and 3 who were injured were immediately sent to BHU for treatment. All these 13 people used to work as labourers in Bhadohi and were returning to their village," Mirzapur SP told ANI.

Union Minister Shares Condolences
Anupriya Patel, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, expressed shared expressed grief over the accident. Taking to X, she wrote, "The mind is saddened by the tragic death of 10 people in an unfortunate road accident in Kachhwa police station area of Mirzapur district. I pray to God to give peace to the departed souls and strength to the grieving families in this difficult time."

Transport Department Hold Awareness Campaign
The Divisional Transport Department on Thursday held an awareness campaign to prevent accidents. Under this, reflector tape was installed on vehicles on Thursday so that accidents occurring at night can be prevented.
DTO Kanhaiya Prasad Gupta asked to follow safety rules while driving on the road. He said that the lives of people can be saved if more people follow traffic rules and wear helmets and seat belts while driving. He also asked people not to use their mobile phones while driving.
