Kerala Health Minister Veena George on Monday said that no new cases of the Nipah virus cases. she also informed that a nine-year-old boy who is currently in treatment is also out of the ventilator, adding that he is on oxygen support. As many as 23 people have been admitted to the medical college and four people are in IMCH.
"Currently the situation is under control. There are 352 people on the high-risk contact list. Health workers have intensified prevention activities in places where the Nipah virus has been confirmed," said George.

- The Kerala government on Sunday informed that the situation in the state was under control as there were no new positive cases for the second consecutive day and that the already infected patients were getting better.
- State Health Minister George said it was a big relief for the state that no new fresh positive cases of the virus have been detected.
- According to information by Kerala Health Minister on Sunday, as many as 19 teams were deployed to trace the cases. She also noted that utilising CCTV footage to help establish more accurate contact tracing.

- To enhance understanding of the virus and its origins, a team from Pune is actively collecting samples from bats in the affected area. Samples from 36 bats have been taken and sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune to ascertain the presence of the virus among the mammals, according to the health minister.
- Speaking about the treatment available to the government against the virus, the minister said the present variant was only 50-60 per cent effective and that the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has assured that it will get a new and more efficient version.
