Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar became a laughing stock on social media after he predicted that the NDA would win "more than 4,000 seats", several times the sanctioned strength of Lok Sabha. Kumar, who was an important part of the INDIA bloc, recently left the party and joined hands with the NDA. In a video that is going viral on social media, he can be heard fumbling "char lakh (four lakh)", and then correcting himself and uttered "char hazaar se bhi zyada (more than 4,000)".

His remarks come alongside with the BJP's slogan 'Abki baar 400 ke paar'. The NDA has claimed that it will win over 400 seats in the coming Lok Sabha elections. Kumar, who heads the JD(U), was in Nawada district to attend a rally addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A couple of video footage of the Nawada rally went viral and the name Kumar was "trending" on X.

In one of the videos that went viral, Kumar appeared to bend towards the PM's feet with arms outstretched, before greeting him with folded hands. In another clip, of his brief speech, Kumar can be heard wishing "4,000 plus (char hazar se zyada)" seats for the NDA, to which he returned a few months ago.

RJD Says 'Clueless', Shares Video

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) also reposted the viral clip along with the caption, "Defeat is visibly seen on BJP leaders' faces as the NDA is clueless about the number of MPs in the country. The people of Nawada know how to drive away people who backtrack after making promises. Where is the special package meant for Bihar? Where is the special status to Bihar?"
