Arvind Kejriwal-ED Row:  The Delhi High Court on Thursday refused to grant interim relief to Arvind Kejriwal on his plea seeking a stay on the Enforcement Directorate's action in the Delhi excise policy case. While pronouncing the order, the court observed that at this stage it is not inclined to grant an interim relief.

However, the High Court sought a response from the ED on the fresh plea filed by CM Kejriwal. The matter is now listed for the next hearing on April 22.

During the hearing, the High Court asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to present the evidence supporting its summonses to Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal regarding the money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy.

The court also asked the probe agency to provide the evidence following the agency's claims that it possessed sufficient material to call him in for questioning and was seeking his personal appearance, reported HT.

“We’re summoning him as an individual and not in an official capacity. There is material to call him,” additional solicitor general (ASG) SV Raju submitted before a justice Suresh Kumar Kait-led bench.

On ASG Raju's submission, the bench asked him to show the material evidence against the leader.

“At this stage, at least if that is the position, show us the material under what capacity are you calling. We want to see what the position is”, the bench said.

The high court further asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to present evidence while considering Kejriwal's request to prevent the agency from taking coercive measures against him when he appears in response to the summons.
