Noida School Timing: All government and private schools in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district will commence at 9 am from Tuesday. In this regard, District School Inspector Dharamvir Singh has sent a letter to the principals of all boards on Monday. The change in school timings was made due to the continuous drop in mercury levels in the national capital.

According to the DIOS, District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma has given instructions to change the opening time of schools amid the possibility of a cold wave in the coming days.

The DIOS said that as per the instructions of the District Magistrate, apart from the principals of the UP Board Schools operating in the district, letters have also been sent to the responsible persons of the schools operating under the CBSE Board, ICSE Board, and IB Board. He said that strict action will be taken against those schools that are found open in violation of the instructions. He said that all schools will open from 9 am till further orders.

Meanwhile, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has implemented restrictive measures under Stage Four of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR following a significant increase in air pollution levels. The average Air Quality Index (AQI) for the national capital reached 399 by 9 PM on Monday, breaching the 400 mark and categorising the air quality as severe.

In response to the alarming rise in AQI, attributed to unfavourable meteorological conditions and calm winds, the CAQM Sub-Committee on GRAP convened an emergency meeting. The committee invoked Stage Four of the GRAP, which includes additional measures beyond the existing restrictions under Stages I, II and III.
