In a shocking incident in Noida, a man allegedly murdered his live-in partner by slitting her throat, citing pressure from his wife and children who were strongly opposed to the relationship. The accused, who later tried to flee, was apprehended by the police after an encounter in which he sustained a gunshot injury.

The incident took place on Friday night in Nirman Vihar Colony, falling under the Ecotech-3 police station limits. The victim, identified as 37-year-old Shabnam, was originally from Haibatpur village under the Bisrakh police station jurisdiction. She had been living with the accused, Mukim, in a rented room for some time.

Mukim, a resident of Mohalla Mewatiyan in the Dadri area, allegedly carried out the crime after repeated confrontations at home due to the relationship. According to Jagran.com reports, the murder came to light after locals informed the police, who rushed to the spot, secured the crime scene, and recovered the woman’s body.

Based on information provided by neighbours, two police teams were quickly deployed to track down Mukim. Late at night, he was spotted trying to escape on a motorcycle. When confronted, he reportedly opened fire at the police. In retaliation, officers shot him in the leg and managed to arrest him. A knife, a country-made pistol, cartridges, and his bike were seized from his possession.

During interrogation, Mukim confessed to murdering Shabnam to “get rid of her” after his wife and children refused to accept the relationship, leading to constant domestic tension. He admitted that he could no longer cope with the stress and decided to eliminate her.

Police have confirmed that the investigation into the case is ongoing and further legal action is being taken.
