Greater Noida To Delhi Metro Update: The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has announced the construction on the 11.56 km Metro link between the Botanical Garden station of the Delhi Metro and the Sector-142 station on the Aqua Line. The construction will start begin within the next three months as soon as the central government grants final approval.
Current Travel Problems For Commuters
At present, passengers coming from Delhi via the Blue Line or Magenta Line must alight at the Sector-52 station on the Blue Line and then either walk or take an e-rickshaw to Sector-51 on the Aqua Line before continuing their journey towards Noida and Greater Noida.
With the expansion of the Aqua Line, a direct Metro link between Sector-142 and Botanical Garden will significantly ease travel. The Botanical Garden station already serves as an interchange for the Blue and Magenta Lines, improving connectivity between Noida and Delhi.
Survey and Construction Plans
NMRC aims to complete the survey for the new corridor next month, clearing the way for construction to begin. A topographic survey and soil testing are also in progress along the route.
Route And Cost Details
-The new corridor will span 11.56 km and have eight stations.
-The estimated project cost is around Rs 2,254 crore.
-Once operational, this link will enhance connectivity between Noida, Greater Noida, and key transport hubs like the Indira Gandhi
-International Airport and major railway stations.
Currently, NMRC operates the Aqua Line from Sector 51 to Greater Noida, and this new expansion will further strengthen the metro network.
