Noida News80 per cent of people are failing in the new advanced driving test system started for making a driving license. Compared to the old system, the number of DLs issued per day has also decreased by 97 per cent. This proves that till now the standards were being openly violated in issuing driving licenses, jagran.com reported. In the new system based on registration, 134 people appeared for the exam for making permanent DL from August 1-7. Out of these only 27 people were able to pass. Earlier, on an average, 125 DLs were being made per day. Now this figure has shrunk to 19.
Private Driving Training Centre Started In Bisahada
The first private driving training centre of the state has started in Bisahada from August 1. An advanced driving test system and track have been set up here. Sensor-equipped cameras have also been installed on the track and one is monitored online during the test.
During this period, you are issued a license only if you drive according to the set standards. If you drive in the wrong way, your license is cancelled. Top officials from ARTO, RTO to Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner level can see the activity of the driving track with just one click.
Apart from this, the record is stored. No tampering is possible in any such situations. In the present system, the Divisional Inspector (RI) of the Transport Department would take the driving test, but due to the absence of a track of the prescribed standard in the district, the driving efficiency could not be tested completely.
Likely Reduction In Road Accidents
Bad driving is one of the main causes of road accidents. In the new system, the drivers are being tested on the driving standards with utmost care. Due to this, only those people who are capable of driving properly will be able to get a DL.
People shall get proper training before appearing in the DL test. This is expected to reduce road accidents caused by driver's mistakes to a great extent.
A Check On The Syndicate Of Brokers
In the system that has been in place till now, the Transport Department has often been accused of issuing DL without a test as per the standards. Cases of middlemen issuing DL without a test have also come to light.
Officials have also been accused of collusion, but in the new system the role of outsiders has completely ended. Now everyone, from common man to VIP, will have to drive according to the standards on the driving track.
Dainik Jagran had conducted a sting operation on March 15, exposing the events that were happening in the name of making DL in the Transport Department. In this regard, the brokers had said on camera that they can make a license without a test for Rs 5,000. The new system has confirmed the sting operation of Dainik Jagran and has confirmed the corruption prevailing in the department.
Under the new system, driving tests are being conducted on advanced tracks. The number of people passing the test has decreased. Its purpose is to test people on high standards in the driving test, said Dr Siyaram Verma, ARTO Administration, as reported by jagran.com.
