A man was caught off guard in Greater Noida when he dumped garbage on the side of the road, only to receive an instant warning on loudspeaker. Confused, the man had to follow the 'pick it up' direction and leave.

The incident took place in Greater Noida’s Beta-1 sector and was caught on camera. At around 10:15 PM on Saturday, a CCTV camera installed in the residential sector caught a man carrying a child. He was carrying garbage and attempted to dump the garbage on the side of the road beside a wall.

The person monitoring the CCTV cameras used the loudspeaker on site to immediately prevent him from dumping the garbage. In the viral video, the person monitoring the CCTV could be heard questioning him about dumping the garbage and asking him to pick it up.

The man, seemingly confused, looks around to figure out where the voice was coming from. Only after the announcement was repeated with a warning for a fine if he didn’t remove the garbage did the man pick it up.

The incident has caught attention on social media with praise for the use of a CCTV-monitored system to discourage littering in the residential area.

According to a report by NDTV, the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector Beta-1 said that they are making efforts to maintain cleanliness in the area. However, some residents continue to dump waste in the open areas, along the roads and walls, to avoid being noticed.

This prompted the association to use CCTV footage to identify people violating cleanliness rules and take action against them. The incident is an example of how the CCTV surveillance system can also be used to intervene immediately.
