A class 7 student died after he fell from the 22nd floor of a residential building in Noida on Wednesday, police said. The incident took place at the Supertech Eco Village 3 group housing society of Greater Noida West, when the family members of the deceased were present in their second-floor flat. The 14-year-old boy, identified as Ansh, was awaiting his academic results when the incident occurred.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident while prima facie suggest that the youth died by suicide. However, no suicide note was recovered from the area.
"The boy died on the spot after falling from the 22nd floor of a residential tower of the society. Further legal proceedings in the case are underway," a police spokesperson said, adding that no formal police complaint has been filed yet.
"The family could not confirm if the boy was under any pressure of studies or exam results or what prompted him to take the extreme step. The family has wished for no further investigation in the case," the officer said as quoted by news agency PTI.

In a similar incident on February 22, a 19-year-old student died after falling from the 22nd floor of a building in Mahagun Mywoods Society, shortly after completing a board examination on the same day. Police stated that the cause of the student’s drastic step was not ascertained while adding that the student failed to pass the exam previous year.
