Noida Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for Noida amid intense weather conditions prevailing in Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile Banda district was ranked among the world's hottest cities for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday, recording a maximum temperature of 48 degrees Celsius, 4.5 degrees above normal.
The intense heat in the district has made people miserable. During the day, the sky rained fire, and hot winds scorched people. The situation is such that people have stopped leaving their homes after 10 a.m. The streets are only beginning to revive in the evening.
The daytime temperature remained unchanged on Wednesday, following Tuesday's peak. The maximum temperature reached 44 degrees Celsius. Night temperatures also remained warm, though the temperature dropped by two degrees to 25.9 degrees Celsius.
Red Alert Issued For Heatwave
The weather body has issued a red alert for a heatwave for the next three days, warning that temperatures could exceed 45 degrees Celsius. The department has issued an alert, warning that there will be no respite during the day or night for a week.
The heat will further increase with the onset of Nautapa from May 25 to June 2. Noida's air quality index was recorded at 167 and Greater Noida's at 246.
As a severe heatwave continues to grip North India, IMD has issued alerts for several parts of North India, forecasting a gradual rise in maximum temperatures over the next few days. Residents have been advised to take necessary precautions, exercise caution, and closely follow official weather updates to minimise inconvenience.
