Jagran Correspondent, Noida: A woman from a residential society in Noida sector 100 has accused a cab driver of indecent behaviour during a ride. As per the woman’s complaint, when she objected to the alleged misconduct, the driver forced her to get off the cab on a deserted road near a cemetery and threated to rape and defame her.
An FIR has been registered at Sector 39 police station and the search for the accused has begun. As per the woman’s complaint, at 5:30 pm on June 25, she booked a cab to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. A driver named Amit Kashyap was assigned to her. He drove her a short distance and suddenly stopped the cab without warning.
Cab Driver Attempted To Take Woman On The Wrong Route
The accused driver attempted to take the cab on the wrong route. When the woman protested and asked him to take the correct route, the accused refused to stop the cab and instead began arguing. The woman has alleged that the driver dropped her off at the cemetery road near Garden Galleria Mall in Sector 38.
Terrified by the driver's actions and fearing the deserted road, the woman booked another cab and attempted to reach Delhi Railway Station, but by then her train had already departed. According to the woman, the driver called her twice on the way, spoke obscenely, and threatened to rape her and circulate the video on social media.
The woman complained to the cab company, but received no satisfactory action. Later, she went to the Sector 39 police station and filed a written complaint, demanding strict legal action against the accused driver.
In another news, a cab driver was arrested for kidnapping, raping and murdering an 11-year-old girl in South Delhi a fews days back. The cab driver told investigators that he had attempted to sexually assault the girl, but was unable to do so due to erectile dysfunction. A medical examination of the accused has confirmed his impotence.
According to the news agency PTI, the accused, identified as Bashu Kumar Singh, abducted the 11-year-old girl on the morning of June 22 while she was asleep near the Chhatarpur Metro Station in Mehrauli. He then took her to his parked hatchback. When the child woke up, Singh calmed her by promising to take her for a drive and drop her back home, after which the girl fell asleep in the vehicle once again.
The accused then drove 10 to 12 kilometres toward Mandi Road, where he attempted to sexually assault the girl.
