North Bengal Landslides Updates: Torrential rain caused widespread chaos in North Bengal districts over the past 24 hours. The downpour caused minor landslides, uprooted trees, inundated low-lying locations and damaged houses in various areas. As per IMD, the rain activity will continue in North Bengal and Sikkim for the next few days.

Heavy rain caused a landslide at Swetijhora along NH10. The area is approximately 35 km from Siliguri. The landslides affected traffic movement till debris was removed.

On Tuesday, heavy rain in Malda district caused waterlogging in localities such as Krishnapally, Subhaspally, Malanchapally, Prantapally, and others.

North Bengal Weather

The rain is expected to subside on Thursday and Friday. Over the weekend, heavy rain will resume in North Bengal districts including - Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar. Light to moderate rain will occur sporadically in the remaining northern districts throughout the week.

July 19: Heavy Rainfall (07-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts.

July 20: Heavy Rainfall (07-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts.

July 21: Heavy Rainfall (07-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar and Alipurduar districts of North Bengal.
