UP Weather Today: According to IMD, there is a forecast of extremely heavy rain in Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur and surrounding areas on Thursday. Apart from this, there will be light to moderate rain in Pratapgarh, Chandauli, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Jalaun and surrounding areas.

Monsoon rain activity has continued in eastern Uttar Pradesh. In Lucknow too, light to moderate rain provided relief from severe humidity. On Thursday, the Meteorological Department issued an alert for heavy rain in a total of 11 districts including Banda, Chitrakoot, Lalitpur and Jhansi of Vindhya and Bundelkhand.

Apart from this, light to moderate rain is forecast in 19 other districts. Thunderstorm warning has been issued in 58 districts. On Wednesday, there was sporadic rain in Lucknow, however, many areas in the east including Varanasi, Sultanpur, Prayagraj received good rain.

Below Normal Rainfall In Western UP

According to senior meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh, there is a possibility of heavy rain in many districts of southern UP including Vindhya, Bundelkhand on Thursday. However, if we talk about the period from July 1 to 15, then western Uttar Pradesh has received about 41 per cent less rainfall than normal.

There has been 17 per cent less rainfall in the eastern regions. As per the weather body, there are chances of good rain in central and eastern Uttar Pradesh in the coming days.

On Wednesday, the maximum temperature of Lucknow was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius and the minimum stood at 24.6 degrees Celsius. The weather conditions will remain similar for the next two-three days.
