- MD issues rain alert for several Uttar Pradesh districts.

UP Weather Today: Monsoon activity has once again gained pace in North India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for several districts in Uttar Pradesh. These districts include Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, and Gorakhpur. Winds of up to 30 to 50 kmph and lightning are expected during this period.
Rain activity had stopped in most parts of the state since the last few days, with only sporadic showers observed in some areas. According to the IMD, the skies will remain overcast in the districts of Uttar Pradesh bordering Delhi, and light rain is possible.
During this period, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature around 24 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has forecast mainly dry weather in western Uttar Pradesh until September 19 and 20.
The Meteorological Department has advised citizens and farmers to consult the district-wise warning GIS map on the official portal for detailed information and emergency alerts for their specific districts. The administration has advised people to remain vigilant and avoid open spaces or shelter under trees during thunderstorms and lightning.

Meanwhile, the weather department, amid the heavy rainfall, has issued a red alert for eight districts of Gujarat. The residents of Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Morbi, Porbandar, Jamnagar, and Devbhoomi Dwarka are set to witness extremely heavy rainfall on Tuesday.
Apart from this, a yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued for at least 15 districts of Bihar. The weather department stated that rain and thundershowers are likely in the Seemanchal region and plains, including East and West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Buxar, Bhojpur, and Rohtas.
