Weather Update: IMD Issues Rain Alert For UP, Jharkhand; Check Forecast For Hilly States

Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several states across the nation are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall in the coming days. In its advisory, the weather department stated that along with the rainfall, the eastern and central parts of country are also set to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly.

Rain Likely In Multiple States 

While providing details, the weather department stated that many areas of northwest India, including Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, are likely to experience rain due to the influence of a western disturbance. Apart from this, other states, such as Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Rajasthan are also set to experience similar weather conditions.

"The Deep Depression is likely to continue to move further north-northwestwards across coastal Myanmar and adjoining Eastcentral & Northeast Bay of Bengal and southeast Bangladesh during next 2 days," the IMD said in a post on X. It advised the residents of the coastal regions to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during the rainfall.

IMD Issues Rain Alert For UP

In its advisory, the IMD stated that several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Shamli, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Noida, Bulandshahr, Moradabad, Bijnor, Rampur, Amroha, Sambhal, Aligarh, Hathras, Etah, Kasganj, Mathura, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Bareilly, Badaun, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Deoria, Kushinagar, and Mau are set to receive heavy rain on Tuesday.

Rain Likely In Jharkhand 

Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has also issued a rain alert for Jharkhand today. It stated that the rainy spell in the state will continue until October 4, adding that the residents are also set to witness thunderstorms and lightning.

The hilly states Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh are also set to witness moderate to heavy rain till October 4. The locals and tourists have been advised to stay updated and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.
