In a shocking incident, a peon working at the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) Department in Odisha's Gajapati handed a bottle of uring to his senior officials after the latter asked for the drinking water.

The accused, identified as Siba Narayan Nayak, was arrested after a formal complaint was filed against him. The senior official, Sachin Gouda, who is the Assistant Executive Engineer with the RWSS, filed the complaint with the R Udayagiri police after the incident took place on the night of July 23.

In his complaint, Gouda said that he had asked Nayak for a bottle of drinking water. However, Nayak gave him a bottle that was filled with urine. As the light was low during the nighttime, Gouda, under work-related stress, unknowingly drank from the bottle.
