Odisha Government Ministers Portfolios: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday allocated various departments to newly sworn-in ministers. Keeping General Administration, Home Affairs, and Water Resources with himself, Majhi handed over key ministries to his deputies. Deputy CM Kanak Vardhan Singh was tasked with the responsibility of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment and the Department of Energy, whereas another Deputy CM, Pravati Parida, was allocated the Departments of Women and Child Development, Mission Shakti, and Tourism.
Notably, the BJP registered a decisive victory in the recently concluded Odisha assembly polls, clinching power from the Biju Janata Dal. The saffron party won 78 out of 147 assembly seats, while the BJD could only win 51 seats. With the BJP's victory, the 24-year-long rule of the BJD's Naveen Patnaik came to an end, paving the way for Mohan Charan Majhi's government in the eastern state.
