Odisha Weather Update: Another cyclonic wind area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal in Ganga Sagar and its surrounding areas on June 25. In view of this effect, heavy rain is expected lash all parts of Odisha. According to meteorologists, the area of cyclonic winds may turn into a deep depression. On Monday, most areas of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Bhadrak, Kandhamal, Raigad and Koraput received rain.

Heavy to very heavy rain is likely at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore on June 24. Orange alert has been issued for five districts on June 25. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore, Gajapati and Ganjam districts.

Possibility Of Heavy Rain In THESE Areas

Heavy rain is likely over Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapara. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Angul, Dhenkanal and Jajpur on June 26.

Heavy rains may occur in Odisha till June 27. Thunderstorms with lightning are likely at most places. Similarly, the Meteorological Department has forecast more rain in isolated parts of coastal and interior Odisha.

Bengal Weather Update

According to the Alipore Meteorological Department, heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely to hit multiple South Bengal and a few North Bengal districts on Monday. Kolkata is expected to see thunderstorm activity accompanied by moderate rain throughout the week. The maximum temperature in Kolkata on Monday will stay around 29 degrees Celsius while minimum temperature is likely to be around 26 degrees Celsius. The weather department has also advised the fishermen to not venture out in the sea.
