Odisha Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday that the maximum temperature throughout the districts of Odisha would not vary much over the next 24 hours and will then drop by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.

The IMD has issued an alert for heavy rainfall in some districts of the state and forecasted thunderstorm activity in other areas of Odisha. In this context, a yellow warning has been issued.

In the next 24 hours, there is a high probability of light to moderate rain or thundershowers in numerous locations over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Dhenkanal, as well as in a few locations over the remaining districts of Odisha.

The districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Nabarangpur are likely to experience a thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface winds of 30 to 40 kmph on June 12.

On June 13, the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, and Nabarangpur are all at high risk of experiencing a thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface winds of 30 to 40 kmph. A yellow alert has been issued for the same.
