Odisha Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forcasted thunderstorms with significant rainfall in various regions of Odisha during the next few days. According to IMD, various regions of Odisha are anticipated to experience thunderstorms with lightning, gusty surface wind speeds of 40-50 kmph, and heavy rainfall during the next 24 hours.
Also, a yellow alert has been issued in this respect.
“No large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during next 24 hours and thereafter rise by 2 to 4 degrees C in subsequent 5 -6 days over the districts of Odisha,” informed IMD.
On June 1, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are probable in a few spots in Odisha.
In Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhargarh, and Sundargarh, there is a chance of a thunderstorm with lightning, strong winds (40 to 50 kmph), and significant rainfall in one or two locations.

In one or two locations in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal, there is a thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds of 30 to 40 kmph.
On June 2, the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangapur, Nuapada, Bolangir, and Sonepur are expected to get light rain or a thunderstorm at one or two spots, while the remaining districts of Odisha are likely to experience dry weather.
