Omar Abdullah's stance on the issues concerning the opposition has changed since he became Chief Minister, the Congress party claimed a day after the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference leader junked the INDIA bloc's apprehensions over electronic voting machines (EVMs), who had said that the opposition needed to be consistent in their concerns over the voting practices despite the winning party.
Manickam Tagore, senior Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP, said that the recent allegations against the EVMs following Maharashtra polls were raised by the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Samajwadi Party (SP) and Shiv Sena (UBT).
"It's the Samajwadi Party, NCP, and Shiv Sena UBT that have spoken against EVMs. Please check your facts, CM @OmarAbdullah. The Congress CWC resolution clearly addresses the ECI only. Why this approach to our partners after being CM?" asked Tagore as quoted by NDTV.

The recent allegations against EVMs were first raised by veteran leader Sharad Pawar, following a poor show by his party NCP (SCP), which was split by nephew Ajit Pawar. Ajit Pawar, who now heads the original NCP, steered the party to a grand performance in the recently concluded Maharashtra polls.
Speaking about the opposition's allegations against EVMs, NC leader and Jammu and Kashmir's CM Abdullah said that it is wrong to question the EVMs when the results don't meet expectations.
CM Omar, whose party witnessed a landslide victory in the recently concluded UT polls, further took a jab at the principal opposition party Congress over its claims on election process.
"When you get a hundred plus members of Parliament using the same EVMs, and you celebrate that as sort of a victory for your party, you can't then a few months later turn around and say... we don't like these EVMs because now the election results aren't going the way we would like them to," Abdullah had said.
