Maharashtra Cabinet Expansion: The Maharashtra cabinet was officially sworn in on Sunday (December 15), with newly appointed ministers taking the oath of office in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with his deputies Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath to the newly appointed ministers at Raj Bhavan in Nagpur. This cabinet expansion followed a delay of over 10 days after Devendra Fadnavis assumed the role of Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the BJP's state unit chief, along with BJP leaders Radhakrishna Vikhepatil and Chandrakant Patil, has been sworn in as Cabinet Ministers at the Raj Bhavan. 

The cabinet expansion took place a day before the start of the Nagpur state legislature's winter session, which is set to begin on Monday, December 16. Several ministers of the Mahayuti alliance took oath at the Raj Bhavan in Nagpur today.

BJP leaders Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, Pankaja Munde, Chandrakant Patil, Ashish Shelar, Ganesh Naik, Jayakumar Rawal, Shivendraraje Bhosale, Atul Save, Ashok Ramaji Uike, Sanjay Savkare, Nitish Rane, Girish Mahajan, Madhuri Misal, and Meghna Bordikar were among the prominent BJP leaders who took oath as ministers in the Maharashtra Cabinet.

From Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena faction, the newly sworn-in ministers include Uday Samant, Gulabrao Patil, Dadaji Bhuse, Sanjay Rathod, Sanjay Shirsat, Shambhuraj Desai, Pratap Sarnaik, Prakash Abitkar, Ashish Jaiswal, and Bharatshet Gogawale.

Ajit Pawar’s NCP saw leaders such as Hasan Mushrif, Dhananjay Munde, Dattatray Bharne, Aditi Tatkare, Manikrao Kokate, Makarand Patil, and Narhari Zirwal among those taking the oath today.

Devendra Fadnavis took the oath as Chief Minister of Maharashtra on December 5, with Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar appointed as his deputy chief ministers. In the Assembly polls, the Mahayuti alliance secured an impressive 230 out of 288 Assembly seats. The BJP emerged as the dominant party, winning 132 seats, marking its highest-ever performance in the state's history. Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena and NCP claimed 57 and 41 seats, respectively.
