Mohamed Iidow, described as a ‘wicked’ predator, has been sentenced to life in prison after CCTV footage revealed him raping and killing NHS worker Natalie Shotter. Shotter, 37, was unconscious on a park bench in Southall Park, west London, after a night out when Iidow attacked her. Jurors were told that the former child stage star died from a heart attack triggered by repeated oral rape.
Iidow, 35, was convicted of rape and manslaughter following an Old Bailey trial. The court did not disclose his previous conviction for attempting to groom young people online. Natalie Shotter, the victim, was described as an exceptionally talented individual and a beloved mother, sister, partner, and daughter. She had also been a former child star in a production of Les Miserables.

Natalie Shotter's mother, Dr Cas Shotter Weetman, described her daughter as a ‘bundle of joy’ and recalled her early success as a child star in Les Miserables. As an adult, Natalie had children and worked in clinical administration at an NHS hospital.
Dr Shotter expressed the devastation she felt upon hearing of her daughter's death, describing the shock and horror of learning about the tragic circumstances. She told Iidow that he had ‘destroyed’ her family. CCTV footage showed Mohamed Iidow walking past Natalie Shotter three times in a ‘predatory’ manner before approaching her as she lay unconscious on a park bench.
He repeatedly raped her, even repositioning her body during the attack. Afterwards, he drove home, stopping at a Shell garage to buy cat food and mouthwash. Shotter, a mother of three, was found dead by a passerby the next morning, July 17, 2021.
Mohamed Iidow was charged with manslaughter and rape on December 21, 2023. After a three-week trial at the Old Bailey, he was found guilty of both charges on October 18, 2024.
