Operation Sindoor Debate In Lok Sabha: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday dismissed the apprehensions of the opposition parties, alleging pressure from the US administration to pause Operation Sindoor, and said that the Indian Army's operation was paused following the achievement of the military and political objectives of the nation.
Dismissing the allegations, Rajnath Singh in Lok Sabha said, "India paused its action because the predecided political and military objectives were achieved. Saying that this operation was paused under any pressure is baseless and absolutely wrong. In my political life, I have always tried not to speak lies ever."

Rajath Singh further asserted that capturing territory by crossing the border was not the objective of Operation Sindoor. "This Operation was launched to serve justice to those families who lost loved ones in the terror attack. Crossing the border or capturing territory was not the objective of Operation Sindoor," the defence minister said.
"The politico-military aim of launching Operation Sindoor was to eliminate those terror nurseries that Pakistan had nurtured for many years. And that is why the armed forces were given complete freedom to choose their targets. The aim was not to start a war, but to force the adversary to bow down," the defence minister added.
Rajnath Singh further cautioned Pakistan and said that Operation Sindoor will resume "if Pakistan indulges in fresh misadventure." He said the armed forces are ever vigilant to defend India's borders, and the military operation was an effective and well-coordinated strike against nine terror sites.

According to Rajnath Singh, Operation Sindoor was over in just 22 minutes, with India's precision strikes destroying nine terror camps inside PoK and Pakistan and eliminating over 100 terrorists. "India has proof of the damage incurred inside PoK and Pakistan," Singh said, adding that the strikes by India were non-escalatory in nature and were solely launched in self-defence.
"Our actions were entirely in self-defence, neither provocative nor expansionist. Before executing Operation Sindoor, our forces studied every aspect and chose the option that would cause maximum damage to terrorists while ensuring no harm to innocent civilians," Singh said.
Rajnath Singh's statement comes against the backdrop of US President Donald Trump's 'ceasefire' claims, which he has repeated at least 25 times till now. "On 10th May, when the Indian Air Force struck hard at multiple airfields in Pakistan, Pakistan admitted defeat and offered to cease hostilities. They spoke to our DGMO and asked to stop. This offer was accepted with the caveat that this Operation has only been paused," Rajnath Singh said.
Rajnath Singh further hailed India-made weapons used during Operation Sindoor and said that the S-400, Akash Missile system and Air Defence guns proved to be very useful and completely foiled the Pakistani attack on Indian cities.
"I am proud to say that our Air Defence system, Counter-Drone system, and electronic equipment completely foiled this attack by Pakistan. Pakistan could not hit any of our targets, and none of our important assets were damaged. Our security arrangements were impregnable, and every attack was thwarted. Operation Sindoor symbol of our strength. Demonstrated that India will not remain silent if anyone harms its citizens," the defence minister said.
