Amid the mounting pressure and intensified scrutiny over the Delhi blast and Faridabad 'white-collar' terror module, Faridabad's Al-Falah University has responded to the show-cause notice issued by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), claiming that the outdated accreditation listings on its website stemmed from "oversight," "website-design errors," and "unintentional lapses."

The university also informed NAAC that the incorrect claims had been removed. According to a report by Hindustan Times, NAAC is not considering further action at present as the university was "apologetic".

The NAAC officials have added that the council has issued similar notices to around 25 other institutions, which were found displaying lapsed accreditation statuses online. They have been instructed to take down such information.

The show-cause notice was sent to Al-Falah on November 12, two days after the investigation linked several doctors of the University's Medical College to the Red Fort blast, in which 13 people were killed while several others were injured.

The notice was issued after the accreditation body had flagged the institute for displaying "absolutely wrong and misleading" information, which included an "A Grade" for its engineering college from 2013 and accreditation for its teacher education school from 2011.

The issue was raised by NAAC as accreditation is valid for only five years. The notice has directed the university to remove all false claims and file a compliance report. The accreditation body has also asked to respond within seven days.
