AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over changes in the NCERT syllabus, alleging that it unfairly blames Muslims for the Partition. This comes after NCERT introduced new modules on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, which hold Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Congress leadership, and then Viceroy Lord Mountbatten responsible for India’s Partition.

Speaking to reporters here, Owaisi said, "This BJP has changed the NCERT syllabus, held Muslims responsible for the partition, we are not responsible for the partition. Savarkar was the first to raise the slogan of partition, Mountbatten is responsible for the partition, the Congress government of that time is responsible, how are we responsible for the partition?"

He further alleged that the killing of Mahatma Gandhi by Nathuram Godse has also been removed from the syllabus.

"You have also removed from NCERT the reason why Mahatma Gandhi was killed by Godse." he added.

Asaduddin Owaisi also questioned the BJP over India’s cricket ties with Pakistan in light of recent killings in Pahalgam, where 26 citizens were targeted based on their religion. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s earlier statement that “blood and water cannot flow together,” Owaisi asked whether the financial gains from cricket matches with Pakistan outweighed the value of Indian lives. He asserted that AIMIM continues to stand with the victims and their families.

"My question to the Chief Minister of Assam, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and all of them is that you don't have the power to refuse to play a cricket match against Pakistan which asked for the religion of our 26 citizens in Pahalgam and shot them. We ask the Prime Minister, when you said that blood and water cannot flow together, dialogue and terrorism cannot happen together, then how much money will the BCCI get from one cricket match, Rs 2000 crore, Rs 3000 crore? Is the value of the lives of our 26 citizens more than the money? This is what the BJP should tell... We stood with those 26 citizens yesterday as well, we stood with them today, and we will stand with them tomorrow as well."

On August 17, Assam Assembly Deputy Speaker Numal Momin and other senior BJP leaders referred to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as the “new avatar of Jinnah.” According to historical accounts highlighted in the new NCERT syllabus, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the Congress leadership, and then Viceroy Lord Mountbatten have been held responsible for India’s Partition.

The syllabus also notes that Veer Savarkar was the first to raise slogans of Partition, while Lord Mountbatten’s role is described as crucial in the division. The Congress government of that period is additionally cited as a contributing factor.

"He (Rahul Gandhi) is playing the role of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Rahul Gandhi is the new avatar of Muhammad Ali Jinnah," Momin told ANI.

"The people of the country weren't able to know about the facts, now the NCERT module reveals the "Culprits of Partition". Jinnah first demanded the Partition of India, Congress accepted it, and Lord Mountbatten implemented it. The culprits of the Partition of India are Jinnah and Congress, and they were solely responsible for the Partition of our country. This is a sad part of Indian history. This Congress party has always tried to divide our country. Whenever Rahul Gandhi visited outside of the country, he tried to defame our country and malign the image of our country. He is playing the role of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Rahul Gandhi is the new avatar of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. His nature, thought, ideology, and vision are to destroy our culture, heritage and country's integrity. This is a very dangerous situation and condition that such people are living in our country and defame and malign the image of our country," Momin said.
