President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday honoured the recipients in the second phase of the Padma Awards 2025. The award for the second phase is conferred upon 68 eminent figures for their contribution to the field of art, social work, and music, among others.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other Cabinet Ministers and prominent leaders remained present. Padma Awards - one of the highest civilian Awards of the country, are conferred in three categories, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri.
In January this year, the President approved 139 Padma Awards comprising 7 Padma Vibhushan, 19 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri Awards. The awards are announced on the occasion of Republic Day every year.
Out of these 4 Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan, and 57 Padma Shri were conferred upon the recipients in the first phase. The awards to the remaining 68 were conferred today.

Padma Vibhushan: The President conferred Padma Vibhusan upon three recipients in second phase. Padma Vibhushan is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service.
