Pahalgam Terror Attack: Months after the horrific terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that killed 26-year-old Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, the United States has officially designated 'The Resistance Front (TRF)' the group behind the massacre as a terrorist organisation. Reacting to the development, Vinay’s father, Rajesh Narwal, made a strong statement, “He (Pakistan’s Army General Asim Munir) will understand my pain when his son or daughter is harmed by someone.”
Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who had just begun his married life and was on his honeymoon, became one of the victims of this terror attack. The young officer had married only a week before the attack and was among the 26 civilians killed in Pahalgam on April 22. The attack shook the nation, with the image of his grieving wife, Himanshi Narwal, sitting beside his body leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of millions.
Speaking with CNN News18, Rajesh Narwal welcomed the US decision, calling it the “first step towards dismantling terrorist infrastructure.” He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian armed forces for the swift and strong response through Operation Sindoor, which was launched on May 7 and targeted nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

“This generation will not forget the Pahalgam attack,” he said firmly. “TRF being declared as a terrorist group is the result of our PM and Foreign Minister’s efforts.” He admitted that life has not been the same since his son’s death. “There is no peace in mind and we can’t sleep at night as the mind is completely blank.”
The TRF had earlier been declared a Foreign Terrorist Organisation (FTO) and a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) by the Trump administration. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the designation is a firm step in support of justice for the victims of the Pahalgam attack and reflects the Trump administration’s commitment to global security.
