India, early Saturday, targeted three airbases of Pakistan with missiles and drones amid escalating tensions between the two countries. Pakistan military spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry, in a press conference, said that Nur Khan (Chaklala, Rawalpindi), Murid (Chakwal) and Rafiqui (Shorkot in Jhang district) airbases of Pakistan Air Force were targeted in the attack by the Indian Security Forces.

Chaudhry, however, claimed assets at their airbases were unharmed in the strikes.

He also said that several Indian missiles and drones were intercepted, vowing a response to the attacks.

Chaudhry made no remarks to the media and abruptly ended the press briefing.

The Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) issued an official notice declaring a complete closure of Pakistani airspace to all forms of air traffic from 3:15 am to 12:00 noon.

For the second consecutive night on Friday, Pakistan carried out a fresh series of drone strikes, targeting 26 locations across India, stretching from Jammu and Kashmir down to Gujarat.

According to the Indian Defence Ministry, all attempts by Pakistan to strike critical infrastructure, including airports and air bases, were successfully foiled. Defence Sources, cited by PTI, confirmed that on Thursday evening, Indian air defence systems had intercepted over eight missiles launched towards border areas in Jammu, including the airport.
