Pakistan has been in the news since the deadly terror attack in Jammu And Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22, in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed, triggering massive outrage against the neighbouring country. India took a series of steps, expressing its anger over the killing of civilians at the tourist site. New Delhi severed the Indus Water Treaty and asked all Pakistanis to leave India, sending Islamabad into a tizzy.
Recently, Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir asserted Pakistanis are totally different from Indians, citing the two nations theory based on religion. However, he forgot that Pakistan was born from India in 1947. There are several living proofs that display that Pakistan was part of India. Even today, many places carry the same name as that of Indian towns.
Here, we listed some Pakistani places that carry Indian towns' names:
Lahore: Lahore is the capital of Punjab province of Pakistan, while a village is also known as Lahore in the Gurdaspur district in India's Punjab.
Multan: Multan is a big city in southern Punjab, while a village within the Multania Gram Panchayat in Bathinda district, Punjab (India) is known as Multan or Multania.
Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi is also situated in Punjab of both nations. In India, a village called Rawalpindi in Kapurthala
Hyderabad: Hyderabad is located in Sindh province of Pakistan. In India, Hyderabad is the capital of Telangana state.
Gujranwala: Gujranwala is an industrial city in Pakistan's Punjab, in India it is also located in Punjab. A village named Gujranwala is situated in Ludhiana, Punjab.
Sheikhupura: Sheikhupura is located in the Lahore Division of Punjab Province, Pakistan, while, in India, it is the name of a village located in Kapurthala, Punjab.
Sialkot: Sialkot is located in India and Pakistan's Punjab.
