Amid nationwide crackdown, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad on Sunday arrested a Pakistani spy from Moradabad, the officials said. Providing information about the accused, UP ATS in a statement said that Shahzad is a resident of Rampur district in UP and has been visiting Pakistan for several years.

He used to smuggle cosmetics, clothes, and spices among other things, and under the guise of it, he continued to work for the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.

As per the details provided by the ATS, Shahzad seems to be well-connected to the ISI and its local agents in India. The ATS has said that he also used to provide money to Pakistani agents in India.

The UP ATS said, "UP ATS arrested a Pakistani agency ISI spy named Shahzad from Moradabad. Shahzad, a resident of Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, had been visiting Pakistan for the past several years and smuggled cosmetics, clothes, spices and other goods illegally across the border between India and Pakistan. Under the guise of this, he worked for the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. Shahzad has good relations with the agents of ISI, with whom he was in constant touch."

Furthermore, ATS said that he has shared confidential information with ISI. "Shahzad has shared confidential information related to India's security with the agents of ISI. On confirmation of this information, FIR was registered under sections 148 and 152 at ATS, Lucknow. Shahzad was arrested today by UP ATS from Moradabad, who is being presented before the court as per rules and further legal action is being taken," the anti-terror agency added.

Jyoti Malhotra, a famous YouTuber, has been arrested by the Haryana Police for spying on behalf of Pakistan. On Sunday, Hisar SP Shashank Kumar Sawan said that Malhotra had visited Pakistan multiple times and China once. She was in contact with Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs) and is currently in a five-day police remand, during which her financial records are being analyzed. Authorities also revealed that she remained in touch with the PIOs during the Indo-Pak conflict.

Another YouTuber, Priyanka Senapati, has been arrested in Odisha. She is Malhotra's friend, and she was under scrutiny for accompanying her to the Jagannath Temple in Puri in September last year.
