Parliament Monsoon Session LIVE Updates: A comprehensive discussion on 'Operation Sindoor' is scheduled to begin in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday as part of the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament. There is also anticipation that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may participate during the course of the discussion, underlining the significance the government places on national security.
Key ministers, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, are expected to participate in the debate, which aims to highlight the strategic and diplomatic dimensions of India's recent counter-terror operation.
The debate follows an intense discussion in the Lok Sabha on Monday, where Defence Minister Rajnath Singh delivered the opening remarks and issued a stern warning to Pakistan. He stated that India would not hesitate to resume strikes if provoked again. "Let this be a clear message to those who support terror. India will respond decisively to any act of aggression," Singh said, drawing loud applause from the treasury benches.

"Terrorists are crying, their masterminds are crying and seeing them cry, some people are crying here too. They tried to play a game during surgical strike, it didn't work. During airstrike, they tried playing another game. That didn't work either. When Operation Sindoor took place, they adopted a new tactic - "Why did you stop?"...Waah re bayan bahaduron! You need one or the other excuse to oppose. So, not just me but the entire country is laughing at you," PM Modi said.,

Parliament Monsoon Session LIVE: Rahul Gandhi corners government over India-Pakistan ceasefire
"There is a second very important thing that he said, maybe he didn't mean to say this. He also said that he told the Pakistanis that we are not going to hit any of your military infrastructure. I said freedom of manoeuvre - freedom to the Air Force. Captain Shiv Kumar, defence attaché Indonesia, says; I may not agree with him that India lost so many aircraft but I do agree that we did lose some aircraft. That happened only because of the constraint given by the political leadership to not attack the military establishment and their air defence. You went into Pakistan, you attacked Pakistan and you told our pilots - do not attack their air defence system," Rahul Gandhi said.,

"Let us now move to Operation Sindoor. Yesterday I watched Rajnath Singh's speech. I listen quite carefully when people speak. He said that Operation Sindoor began at 1.05 in the morning. He said that Operation Sindoor lasted 22 minutes. Then he said the most shocking thing - at 1.35, we called Pakistan and told them that we have hit non-military targets and we do not want escalation," Rahul Gandhi said.
"Maybe he does not understand what he revealed. The DGMO of India was told by the Govt of India to ask for a ceasefire at 1.35 at night itself on the night of Operation Sindoor. You directly told Pakistan your political will that you do not have the political will to fight, that you do not want to fight," Rahul Gandhi added.,

Parliament Live Updates: EAM Jaishankar Addresses Lok Sabha On Op Sindoor
"The focus for our diplomacy was the UN Security Council. The challenge for us was that at this particular point, Pakistan is a member of the Security Council and we are not. Our goals in the Security Council were two: 1- to get an endorsement from the Security Council of the need for accountability, and 2- to bring to justice those who perpetrated this attack. I am glad to say that if you look at the Security Council statement of 25th April, the members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack. They affirmed that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security. And most importantly, the Council underlined the need to hold the perpetrators, organisers, financers and sponsors of this reprehensible act of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice," S Jaishnakar said.

EAM S Jaishankar, addressing Lok Sabha on Operation Sindoor, said, "It was important to send a clear, strong and resolute message after the Pahalgam attack. Our red lines had been crossed. And we had to make it very apparent that there would be serious consequences as a result. The first step, which was taken, was that a meeting of the Cabinet Committee of Security took place on 23rd April. That meeting decided that-
1. The Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 will be held in abeyance with immediate effect until Pakistan credibly and irrevocably abjures its support for cross-border terrorism.
2. The Integrated Check Post Attari would be closed with immediate effect.
3. Pakistani nationals who are travelling under SARC visa exemption scheme will no longer be allowed to do that.
4. The Defence, Naval and Air advisors of the Pakistani High Commission would be declared Persona non grata
5. The overall strength of the High Commission would be brought down to 30 from the number of 55.",
